FEATURES
5 series loops
Loops 1 through 5 are connected in series. When a loop is OFF the corresponding SEND output is muted so that no signal is sent to the connected effect unit. This eliminates the possibility of unwanted oscillation due to crosstalk when high-gain effects are used.
All loops are S.C.T (Single Contact True-bypass) type circuits, so when a loop is bypassed the signal passes through only a single relay circuit for maximum reliability as well as maximum sound quality.
3 separate loops
Loops 6 through 8 are independent. The loop 6 through 8 SEND jacks can also be used as latching N.C. (Normally Closed) switches, and the loop 6 through 8 OUT jacks can be used as latching N.O. (Normally Open) switches for remote amplifier channel switching. Even the ground lines are independent, so you can use these loops as control switches for multiple devices without having to worry about ground loop problems.
The separate loops can be used as mute loops, A/B switchers, and for many other utility functions.
When the five series loops aren't enough for your system, you can patch the separate loop IN and OUT jacks together to provide up to eight series loops.
Two of the separate loops can be used together as a stereo loop.
MIDI Functions
MIDI IN and OUT/THRU connectors are provided to allow MIDI communication with external equipment. The PEC-2 can also be used as a MIDI pedal. MIDI control change numbers can be assigned to the switches as required, allowing the PEC-2 to be used in a wide range of MIDI-based systems. When two PEC-2 units are connected in the link mode, the MIDI IN and OUT/THRU connectors of both units can be used.
※When one PEC-2 unit is being used with a second PEC-2 in the remote mode, only the MIDI IN and OUT/THRU connectors of the MASTER unit are available for use. The SLAVE unit MIDI connectors are not operational.
Mute Function
The PEC-2 mute circuit is located immediately before OUT-1 and OUT-2. The MUTE switch can function independently, without being affected by the recalled program.
Two mute disengage modes are provided: Manual, in which mute is manually disengaged via the MUTE switch, and Automatic, in which mute will also be disengaged whenever a program switch is pressed.
Memory Functions
The PEC-2 has 84 independent memory locations (7 programs x 12 banks). A memory protect function is provided to prevent accidental changes to the memory contents.
Link Functions
Link Mode: Two PEC-2 units can be linked to function as an effect controller that will handle up to 16 loops. When the PGM mode is selected, recalling a program on either unit will recall the same program on the second unit as well. In the DIRECT mode the loops on either unit can be directly turned on or off as required.
Remote Mode: One PEC-2 unit can be located on stage while another is in the wings, and one or the other can be used as a "remote control unit". One unit is designated as the"master"and the other as the"slave", and the settings memorized in the master unit are recalled.
Buffer
The PEC-2 buffer is a proven design that delivers superior performance in a range of Providence Custom Products. A high-performance 15-volt DC power supply ensures broad dynamic range. Although the signal level isn't affected, the buffer "fortifies" the relatively weak guitar or bass signal so that it is less susceptible to degradation.
Separate buffered and non-buffered inputs and outputs are provided so that fuzz units and other effects that might exhibit a change in tone if connected after the buffer can be connected before the buffer circuit.
Tuner Out
The signal received via the buffered input or non-buffered input is always available at this output for connection to an electronic tuner. The tuner output is buffer-isolated from the main signal chain so that a short in the tuner cable or a malfunction in the tuner itself won't affect the main signal.
Power Supply
The power adaptor supplies twice the required power, and will maintain stable operation even if the mains supply drops to approximately 80% of it's rated voltage. Heat generation is effectively minimized, ensuring stable operation even in relatively hot environments.
Note:
MIDI program change and control change numbers cannot be simultaneously transmitted from the MIDI OUT connector.
FEATURES
Vitalizer Input (VZ IN)
The Vitalizer circuit fed by this input “fortifies” the relatively weak guitar or bass signal without changing the signal level so that it is less susceptible to degradation.
Input (IN)
The sound of some effects, notably certain types of fuzz and distortion, can change when connected after a buffer circuit. If you will be connecting effects of this type to the PEC-4V, connect your instrument to the IN jack to bypass the Vitalizer circuit and connect directly to the effect loops.
Series Loops
Loops 1 through 3 are connected in series (one after the other). Signal switching is accomplished via precision mechanical relays. When a loop is OFF the corresponding SND output is muted so that no signal is sent to the connected effect unit. This eliminates the possibility of unwanted oscillation due to crosstalk when high-gain effects are used. All loops are S.C.T (Single Contact True-bypass) type circuits, so when a loop is bypassed the signal passes through only a single relay circuit for maximum reliability and sound quality.
Separate Loops
Loop 4 is totally independent, and uses the same type of precision mechanical relay as loops 1 through 3 for switching. In addition to functioning as an independent loop, the separate loop SEND jack can also be used as a latching N.C. (Normally Closed) switch, and the OUT jack can be used as latching N.O. (Normally Open) switch for remote amplifier channel switching.
This loop is completely independent, right down to the ground line, so you can use it as a control switch without having to worry about ground loop problems. The separate loop can be used as a mute loop, an A/B switcher, and other utility functions. When the three series loops aren't enough for your system, you can patch the series loop OUT jack to the separate loop IN jack to provide a fourth series loop.
Program Mode
Up to four combinations of the four loops can be programmed and recalled instantly in the PROGRAM mode.
Direct Mode
The four loops can be directly turned on or off individually in the DIRECT mode.
Vitalizer Through (VZ THRU)
The signal received via the buffered input (Bu-IN) or non-buffered input (IN) is always available at this output for connection to an electronic tuner. The tuner output is buffer-isolated from the main signal chain so that a short in the tuner cable or a malfunction in the tuner itself wonユt affect the main signal.
DC9V Output/Provolt9
Each of these output connectors can supply up to 100mA (a total of 400mA for all 4 outputs) of regulated DC 9V power. If any of the Provolt9 DC outputs are accidentally shorted, its Short Protection & Auto Recovery feature pro- tects the internal circuitry from damage while keeping all other outputs active. When the cause of the short is removed the affected output will recover auto- matically and normal DC supply will resume.
Double Filtering on each of the Provolt9 outputs ensures exceptionally clean power supply. Clean power is essential for high-resolution, refined sound.
FEATURES
The P-4 Routing Box Series inherited original P-1, P-2, P-3 series' top notch quality that were highly acclaimed by musicians since its first release in 1999 for more affordable price while maintaining hand wiring production and using well selected parts with special wiring method to minimize the noise by reviewing work efficiency that are not related to the sound quality and durability and renewing the body design.
P-4TB TRUE BYPASS offers true bypass feature that completely bypasses the effect pedals that are connected in between send and return. Some of the effect pedals degrade the sound quality because of the low input impedance, and some others can't bypass the buffer even though the effected is turned off. The P-4TB is very helpful to solve these situations.

Providence P-4E is the A/B Box equipped with the Switchcraft jack and Providence OFC wire to minimize the sound degradation. The LED turns on by selecting A OUT. Unselected signal will be grounded, and input from the amp or effect pedal will be muted. It is same situation as the guitar or bass' volume is all way down where noise level is minimum. It avoids translating noise from cables, amp, and effect pedals' input and prevent the noise to come through from amp's output as well as crosstalk interference. For example, by connecting A out to a tuner and B out to the rest of your signal chain, and choose A OUT, you'll be able to tune with mute on.

This is a model of the P-4E (A/B Box) with Effect loop. The effect loop is placed before A/B selector. If nothing is connected to the loop, the signal will be bypassed. Since the loop's ON/OFF can be visually seen by LED, this will be a suitable function for the units such as vintage effect pedals that are not equipped LED to check whether it is on or off. Also, some of the effect pedals go through buffer circuit even the pedal is off. Some players prefer not to use buffer when the pedal is off. The P-4 LE is designed to have completely separated signal line for the loop to answer these needs. We employed original measurement to ensure turning on and off reliable by having 60mm space in between the switches.
FEATURES
Dual Vitalizer
In and Out Vitalizer will keep the original sound as much as possible to low impedance the signal. This will avoid signal deterioration via many signal contacts such as jacks, plugs, switches and long cables.
SEND/RETURN
The jacks are located to allow efficient routing of the input/ output for your pedalboard system.
TUNER OUT (Can also be used as a parallel output box)
Usually, a tuner is connected, but it can also function as a 3 parallel output box by switching the internal switch.
MUTE CTL
Using a third-party external latch footswitch for mute function.
It will mute the signal at the end of your effect chain when using the Send/Return. This will help to shut the noise or unnecessary sound reflection caused by the pedalboard system.
POP NOISE REDUCTION CIRCUIT
The mute circuit uses a relay contact circuit that does not change the sound quality. Besides, a POP noise reduction circuit is also installed to reduce the pop noise when the mute function is switched.
POWER/MUTE (LED)
When the power is on, the LED will light blue, when the mute function is active, the LED will blink red.
THRU
This THRU is structured as a stereo phone (TRS), and the signal line (Tip and Ring) and the ground line (sleeve) of 2 signals are completely isolated. It can be used for a variety of purposes as switching systems, amp channel selecting and two signal connections to external devices.
Wide Voltage DC Input
Various voltages from + 9 V to +18 V are usable.
006P battery is usable as well.
FEATURES
Total routing system~Signal Junction Box with (SEND/RETURN)
In addition to the IN / OUT jack, the SEND / RETURN jack will help to build your pedalboard system as signal junction box. a) It can also use as a splitter by turning on the VITALIZER and outputting the signal in parallel using SEND and OUT, it will work as active splitter.
b) A friendly layout of each Jacks to build your pedalboard system with saving your limited space.
Built-In VITALIZER
Today, VITALIZER is one of the necessaries of building pedalboard system, It will keep the original sound as much as possible to low impedance the signal.
This will avoid signal deterioration via many signal contacts such as jacks, plugs, switches and long cables.
Also The VITALIZER is switchable to select True-Bypass mode at your needs.
MUTE function at the end of the system
This eliminates the concern of sound quality change and noise mixing. When you use the SEND/RETURN to build your pedalboard system, you can tune the pure signal just after your instrument and it will mute the signal at the end of your effect chain. This will help to shut the noise or unnecessary sound reflection caused through the pedalboard system.
Equipped KORG high precision tuner
KORG Pitchblack Advance which has super high precision and excellent visibility is installed.
Stomping the foot switch and tune the instrument in silence state. Since the signal line to the tuner and the signal line to OUT (or SEND) are completely isolated by switching the signal relay, there is no impedance influence on signal line.
DC9V~18V Compatible Voltage input
Musical instrument power supply in the market can be widely used (Center negative, DC9V to 18V) Since the voltage of the power supply connected to DC IN will output at DC OUT. This will help to supply power to other pedal on your rig. In addition, the DC OUT circuit has an overcurrent protection. This will protect the external power source from shorted DC cables or any issues from external devices.
9V battery (006P) Operation
This unit will also work with 006P battery. Tuner calibration and mode setting are memorable using the battery.
FEATURES
Short Protection & Auto Recovery
If any of the Provolt9 DC outputs are accidentally shorted, this feature protects the internal circuitry from damage while keeping all other outputs active. When the cause of the short is removed the affected output will recover automatically and normal DC supply will resume.
Auto Voltage Controller Delivers Ideal Output for Each Effect Device
Although the output from most power supplies designed for use with effect pedals is 9 volts DC, the output from a brand new battery can be anywhere from about 9.4 to 9.8 volts. It's a small difference, but it can mean a noticeable change in sound quality. The Provolt9 Auto Voltage Controller ensures that approximately 9.6 volts DC (equivalent to a new alkaline battery) is consistently supplied to booster, overdrive, distortion, and other low-power-consumption effect pedals that need to deliver outstanding dynamic performance. That 0.6 volt difference can be a significant sonic advantage.
Double Filtering for Refined Sound
Double Filtering on each of the Provolt9 outputs ensures exceptionally clean power supply. Clean power is essential for highresolution, refined sound.
Star Grounding Suppresses Hum
In most power supplies with multiple outputs the DC output jacks are simply connected in parallel – a configuration that increases the likelihood of hum. The Provolt9 employs star grounding that effectively suppresses hum for clean, high-quality sound.
FEATURES
VITALIZER™
The Vitalizer™ is one of the buffers that converts high impedance signal that are more likely to degrade the sound quality by picking up noise or losing higher frequency sound while going through the wiring and electric circuits to low impedance signal that are less likely to be affected by those problems. It is an Active Impedance Converter that Providence has applied original invention to make sure the sound doesn't get too Hi-Fi while respecting guitars and effect pedals' character of sound signals. It delivers natural faithful instrument sound by using a special circuit that minimizes the "Active" sound.
Practical uses of the Vitalizer WV
The wah and volume pedal tend to degrade the signal and color the tone when high impedance signal is received. The Vitalizer is more effective to be used where the player would like to minimize the tonal change. By sending low impedance signal from the Vitalizer WV to the wah or volume pedal, the player is able to control the vivid signal with minimized degradation on pedals. There are many ways to use this pedal effectively such as at the last position before the amp or first position after the guitar.
In a small chassis
Since the pedal is designed to be placed next to the big chassis pedals such as wah and volume pedal, the Vitalizer WV is in a small chassis (60x73/mm). It can be placed in a small space on the pedalboard and helps prevent degrade the signal. It needs to be used with external power supply when 9V battery is used. It also runs with AC adapter or power supply.

Practical uses of the Vitalizer BF
By placing it on the closest spot from guitar/bass in the signal chain, the Vitalizer™ BF tightens the bottom end that is tend to be blurred with bass, 7/8 string guitar, and drop tuned guitar. Also, it will help prevent degrading the signal or tonal change and reduces the noise from different environmental situations when the pedal is placed in the beginning of the signal chain of the pedalboard. Also, it works great even before the amp or where the player feels the signal gets degraded or causes tonal change.

FEATURES
FINAL BOOSTER is now renewed as VITALIZER™ FB!
The Providence VITALIZER™ FB is a successor of the FINAL BOOSTER to represent its true performance and function.
This is the same product as FINAL BOOSTER FBT-1.

The signal goes through the VITALIZER™ FB's circuit even when the pedal is turned off to deliver more vivid sound to the following units.
FINAL BOOSTER(FB)
The FINAL BOOSTER is a full-range booster that emphasizes the sound quality.
It allows to boost the signal that were converted to low impedance on Vitalizer™ circuit up to 20db.
It is designed to minimize the tonal change when you boost the signal a lot through our original switching way as the signal always goes through the booster circuit while footswitch only functions for boost volume's on/off.
Best Uses
Vitalizer™ is ideal to use where you would like to minimize the signal degradation. There are many ways to use it such as the first place after the guitar, before wah or volume pedal that are more likely to degrade the signal, and before the amp or your system. Since FINAL BOOSTER is less likely to affect tone, you can also connect it after other pedal to boost just the volume, or you can also control the gain by connecting it before overdrive/distortion pedal.
*Please be advised the sound may get distorted if you boost too much when you connect Final Booster before Wah or other pedals.
Multi-function LED
In addition to indicating the pedal's on/off status, the VFB-1 LED provides effective visual battery power monitoring. When the battery voltage drops below 7 volts the LED will become dimmer and begin to go out. The effect will still operate at this voltage, but to ensure optimum performance the battery should be replaced as soon as possible.
Providence products are all handcrafted in JAPAN.
